Incredible Bali Yoga Classes The Best Bali Yoga Studios On The Island

Hello yoga lovers,

If you’re on the way to the Island of the Gods for a holiday this year, make sure you choose the right Bali yoga studio to suit your needs. There’s nothing worse than showing up to a yoga class that’s packed with super flexible people when you still can’t touch your toes! And, if you’re already an advanced yoga practitioner then you probably won’t get much satisfaction from a class structured for first-timers either.

You may have heard that Yoga is all about making the journey within yourself – but since you’re already journeying all the way to the tropics, we’re here to make sure you get your yoga hit just as you need it. Whether it’s a case of stretching out after the long plane ride or invigorating your mind and soul with a challenging daily practice. Here are some of the best Bali yoga studios on the island. Namaste!

Sink Into A Bali Yoga Daze At Desa Seni

Based in the heart of Canggu, Desa Seni is known as an institution for Bali yoga with an incredible array of talented teachers who teach classes for everyone’s different needs. There’s hardcore Ashtanga yoga taught at different levels – so just check the schedule if that’s your discipline but there is also restorative yoga classes for those wanting to relax on a long Bali evening or travellers who are lacking in energy. They also have Hatha and Tantra yoga for those who want a specific practice, as well as fly high and Yin yoga. We particularly recommend the last two if you haven’t tried using a yoga swing yet or you have a sore back from the flight. But be warned! You may find yourself spending the entire day at Desa Seni as there’s also sumptuous food and spa treatments just waiting to capture you in Desa Seni’s village atmosphere. If you’re looking for accommodation in the area then we recommend Villa Virginia

Sweat It Out With Bikram Bali Yoga

Seminyak based, Jiwa Bikram yoga is not for the faint-hearted (or those with low blood pressure) but the heated yoga classes at this advanced Bali yoga studio offer an extraordinary chance to stretch and relax. The classes here are 90 minutes long and each follows the same routine which works to stretch out every area of your body and allows for some recovery time at the end of the class. If you’re on a detox than Bikram yoga will fast forward the process as you can expect to sweat litres of fluid in a standard class. Though it’s pretty toasty in there, this yoga studio is well designed and reasonably easy going – so even if you’re a newbie to Bikram yoga you’ll be welcomed with open arms. If you’re looking for accommodation in the area then we recommend Villa Anahata.

Indulge In Bali Yoga And Organic Food

Seminyak Yoga Shala is a second-floor den of peace and quiet – a little gem of a Bali yoga studio based on one of Seminyak’s main streets. The morning classes are challenging Mysore sessions but Ashtanga, Hatha and Vinyasa are taught are varying times throughout the day. This studio honours the tradition of taking moon days for rest so if it’s a full moon you can expect the studio to be closed. The lovely thing about Seminyak Yoga Studio is the organic, vegetarian cafe directly underneath it. Eating here is the perfect finish to a restorative Bali yoga class and there’s even a wee shop if you’re in need of a new mat or some stylish yoga wear at reduced Bali prices. If you’re looking for accommodation in the area then we recommend Villa White Pearl.

Come Alive With Bali Yoga

Ubud based, Radiantly Alive is one of Bali’s most beautiful Bali yoga studios. They offer a combination practice of Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow which gives you a balance between strength and restoration. The teachers are super friendly and lead yoga classes which are laced with meditation and wisdom sharing to match the poses. They have all the equipment you need and we recommend checking out the schedule for a chance to explore some of the more unique Tibetan and Indian practices on offer. The laid-back atmosphere and smaller classes at Radiantly Alive made them our choice over the Yoga Barn which is Ubud’s largest yoga studio. If you’re looking for accommodation in the area then we recommend Villa Kalila.
