This opulent 5 bedroom, Colonial style villa is perfectly situated, enjoying spectacular views of both the temperate Indian Ocean and lush, green rolling paddy fields. Located in Cemagi, a traditional village about 12km from Seminyak, the area is distinguished by a charming temple perched on a rocky outcrop, only 75 metres from your front door.

Built over three levels, with grand Caribbean style architecture and large verandas that utilise the sea breeze, this villa offers guests the very best in luxury living. All the interior rooms are air-conditioned providing a welcome retreat from the heat of the day and there is plenty of outdoor living where guests can enjoy the beauty of their surroundings.

The gorgeously landscaped, extensive grounds are peppered with tropical colour and the villa is entered via a wooden bridge over an ornamental pond, setting the halcyon tone for the property. At the back, there is an 18 metre pool, which is sure to become the hub of your holiday activities and if you have young children, a pool fence can be provided on request. There is a large sunbathing deck adorned with four comfortable loungers for the sun worshippers among you, or alternatively laze around in the large shady bale where you can listen to the music of your choice through the Bose speakers. The bale also contains a dining table and chairs providing an ideal spot to indulge in the mouth-watering delights provided by the cooks.

The ground floor comprises of a large formal dining room with patio doors that open out onto the veranda, giving you the best of both worlds and a huge contemporary kitchen with granite work surfaces and glazed cabinets. There is very little need for you to worry about this room as your catering requirements will be taken care of by our skilled and capable team. A discreet staff door allows access to the back of the property allowing staff admission with the minimum of intrusion.

Additionally, on this level are two delightfully appointed, large double bedrooms and a twin room. One of the double rooms has its own ensuite while the other shares a bathroom with the twin room. All of the accommodation on this level is connected by the terrace which is spotted with planter’s chairs and tables providing great spots for an early morning coffee.

All your entertainment needs are taken care of by the media room on the first floor which has gobsmacking views over the rice fields punctuated by the tips of volcanoes in the distance. This level also houses two huge master suites which both have stunning ensuites with bathtubs set under the windows so you can lay back, relax in the bubbles and gaze at the endlessly stunning views. This floor also has 6 metre deep veranda edging the rooms and 3 beautiful antique, deep backed benches creating the perfect spot for lounging and revelling in the peace and quiet of the property.

At the very top of the building is a roof terrace with fairy tale views spanning 180 degrees from Uluwatu in the south all the way down the west coast, this is the place for evening cocktails. Please note this area is not recommended for children under 6 years old and youngsters of all ages should be supervised at all times. It can be arranged to block off the access in the name of safety.

Once the sun has sunk below the sea, move the party to the pool room with its very own bar in the converted garage beside the main house. It contains a pool table constructed from 300 year old teak taken from a traditional Javanese house.

Finished to exacting international standards with state of the art facilities throughout including Bose server technology with built in speakers in all the common areas, broadband internet and Satellite TV, there really is no need to leave Villa Surgawi at all. It truly lives up to its name which translates as ‘Heavenly Place’.

If you do fancy journeying further afield, during low tide it is possible to walk to the nearby Meridian Hotel which has a famous 18 hole championship golf course. And a short 20 minute drive will take you to the host of amenities supplied by the Canggu Club and a few minutes more will take you into the fashionable district of Seminyak with its host of bars, restaurants and boutiques.
