11 Epic Bali Activities for Kids of All Sizes

If you’re a parent who likes to travel, then you know how important it is to ensure the kids are safe and happy so you can properly relax. Thankfully, a holiday in Bali with kids can be an absolute blast. If you want to see some fantastic family villas feel free to click here but in the meantime, we’ve put together a list of fun places you can take the kids to keep them entertained. From babies and toddlers right up to those surly pre-teens. We’ve got you covered.

JOGLO – CANGGU

The Joglo is a peaceful haven for parents with kids. You’ll find everything from pilates classes to movie nights that are kid-friendly. There’s a great cafe with a safe and interactive playground close by. You can relax knowing they are having a blast. There are also morning and after-school activities like cooking classes and craft workshops where you can drop off the kids while you head to one of the local spas.

BALI ZOO – GIANYAR

The Bali Zoo is an animal conservation park with so much for the kids to see and do. Everything from the petting zoo where your little ones can cuddle rabbits or across to the big cat habitats where African Lions and Bengal Tigers are on show. There are also crocodiles and lots of tropical birds and a comforting focus on conservation and animal safety rather than animal exploitation.

THE GARDEN KIDS CLUB – CANGGU

Located next to Sprout Cafe in Canggu, this is a world-class early childhood learning centre where you can book your kids in for a few hours of supervised care. It’s open seven days a week. The play facilities suit kids as young as 2 and as old as 12 years old and the staff are very experienced. We highly recommend it if you need some time out for yourselves.

BOUNCE BALI – CANGGU

Another star attraction at Finns Recreation club, this trampoline fun centre has thick safety padding, bins of foam and enthusiastic instructors who’ll teach your kids games like dodgeball or basketball. They’ll be bouncing off the walls – literally and you can sit upstairs at the ten-pin bowling club or get in a set of tennis at the indoor courts next door while they release any pent-up energy in complete safety.

BALINESE CULTURAL CREATION – DENPASAR

If you want to immerse the kids in the local culture than this is the place to go. They have classes in shadow puppet making, gamelan, Balinese dance, cooking and even “offering” making. The kids will love being able to construct, paint and fly their kites, and they’ll be learning from friendly Balinese teachers with excellent English.

WATERBOM – KUTA

Waterbom is better for older kids as it’s quite big and the rides can be a little extreme for the younger ones. There are 16 different waterslides and inner tubing floats; you can even learn to freestyle surf in the FlowRider wave pool. There is lovely shaded areas to camp out in for the day, and you can hire towels and lockers to keep your belongings safe. Food options are plentiful and should suit even the pickiest taste.

SPLASH – CANGGU

Splash is the second most popular waterpark in Bali. It’s part of the Finns Recreation Complex in Canggu, and it’s smaller than Waterbom which makes it easier to watch toddlers and more fun for younger kids. The playground is safe, and everything is small which is good for parents of toddlers. In general, an average sized four-year-old will be big enough to go on most of the rides at Splash so there’ll be no tantrums to deal with! There’s a shallow lagoon where you can wade with the babies, and the food is delicious and simple. Your kids will likely fall in love with the American style hot dogs.

BALI EQUESTRIAN CENTRE – CANGGU

If you’ve got a little girl who loves ponies, or a little boy who fancies himself as a cowboy, then don’t miss out on some time spent at The Equestrian Center. They can have a 15 or 30-minute ride on a gentle well-trained pony in the lovely grounds of the Centre which is located in Canggu. If you’re also a horse lover, there are horses just waiting to meet you, and the Centre has all the equipment you need. Don’t miss a dip in the swimming pool after you’ve gone for a trot!

THE PIRATES BAY – NUSA DUA

Your children will love this spacious open-air playground on the beach in Nusa Dua. There’s a huge wooden landlocked pirate ship to explore, four treehouses, hammocks, a rope obstacle course and wooden swings. Scallywag pirates roam the grounds chatting with thrilled kids, and there’s even an organised treasure hunt. There are also plenty of restaurants on hand to fill up their bellies at this fun pirate hideaway.

WESTIN KIDS SPA – NUSA DUA

Spa culture is a big part of Bali’s popularity so we think your kids should indulge in some pampering too! At the Westin Nusa Dua, there’s a menu of children’s spa treatments available. Kids can enjoy relaxing 30-minute massages, mini-facials, and mani-pedis just like Mum. All the products are non-toxic, and they can also get hair braiding, nail art, and temporary tattoos if the mood takes them (and you).

BALI TREETOP ADVNETURE PARK – CANDIKUNING

Set in a lush botanical garden, Bali Treetop Adventure Park is fun and safe! The course has seven adventure circuits and 72 different challenges designed to accommodate all ages and fitness levels. Routes are carefully marked so they won’t get in over their heads, and your kids will also be safely harnessed as they climb trees, swing on ropes, climb or fall into huge suspended nets, cross rope bridges, or even take an exhilarating Flying-Fox ride on a wire. This adventure park is excellent for adults and children. They won’t forget it quickly, and you’ll be a hero for making their holiday fun!
